Conscious Karaoke

Wednesday, November 20, 7-9:30pm

Conscious Karaoke. Nope, it's not a joke.
This is not your typical karaoke night. It's a playful, singing-focused creativity workshop, disguised as a karaoke night! We get a group of brave folks together in a totally private karaoke room--no stage and no drunken bar patrons hogging the mic. We create a safe space to share our stories AND our voices.

This is about being courageous, curious, and having fun with singing in a supportive environment. It's NOT about singing like Beyoncé. It's about singing like YOU.

We choose songs that move us, or let us express parts of ourselves we don't usually show, or whatever else feels right. We witness each other, push our edges, and have a blast. We have time to reflect on how it feels to perform and be seen. Creative growth guaranteed!

If this sounds as ridiculously fun to you as it does to me, register now. And if it sounds scary but intriguing, register too!

Who's leading this?

Julia Ellis, MFT, is an Expressive Arts Therapist and Creativity Evangelist. She believes that you, yes, you, have an essential contribution to make to our world, and accessing your creativity is a key to making that happen. She creates individual and group sessions that help super busy people stuck in productivity mode (re)learn how to play and be creative so they can break out of their habitual daily patterns, connect to who they really are, and create a life they actually want.

"Julia's creativity workshop was an amazing opportunity to break from routine and find inspiration to try new things. Julia is a fun, positive and supportive leader, and she created an immediate feeling of warmth and camaraderie in the small group. I left feeling refreshed and confident, and in the week since the workshop I've continued to think about bringing more creativity and less judgment into my days." S. L.

"Julia’s workshop was a welcome respite from my busy and work-centered life. It was a real treasure to get to spend a day tapping into my child-self, exploring many avenues of play and creativity. From dancing to painting to making wild sounds and beautiful harmonies, Julia’s welcoming, jubilant, and non-judgmental spirt helped me connect with myself and the group and be unafraid to make mistakes." T.W.

"Julia’s workshop was a wonderful way to tap back into my creativity, move beyond the judging mind, and into a space of self discovery and self expression. Julia holds a fun, nurturing and supportive space that helped me to feel safe exploring. I look forward to doing this again!" A. V.
