Hi, I'm Julia. CA Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist & lover of creativity in all forms. I’ve helped hundreds of people get through some of the most difficult times in their lives and find their way to hope and change. I support people with diverse cultural, racial, and class identities, queer and straight, immigrant and U.S. born. I will meet you exactly where you are. I'm an Expressive Arts Therapist, which means that in addition to talking (which is really important!), we might use art or movement or music to get to the heart of an issue. I think outside the box as a therapist to find what actually works—I’ve even flown a kite with a client! I’m funny and fun and real. In my spare time I do improv and clowning. I’m super non-judgmental and I will see you with complete acceptance and compassion. People often leave their sessions with me feeling “gotten” and understood, and validated for strengths they didn't even know they had. |
I am deeply committed to my own growth and well-being, and my work as a therapist is a big part of that.
I feel privileged to do this work.
- Being a hospice grief counselor many years continues to connect me with the reality of our mortality and inspires me to live life even more fully. And helps me truly understand how to be with profound pain.
- Being an expressive arts therapist emboldens my creativity and stretches my courage.
- Being witness to my clients' struggles and transformation continually deepens my compassion and my faith in humanity and life.
I feel privileged to do this work.
